Stevens American Graduate Experience (SAGE)
What is SAGE?
The Stevens American Graduate Experience (SAGE) is an exclusive summer enrichment program for incoming international Stevens’ graduate students to immerse themselves in American language, culture, and academics prior to the start of fall semester classes.
What are the benefits of SAGE?
Students who participate will be provided with almost three weeks of on-campus Stevens housing, which overlooks the beautiful New York City skyline. Senior students and staff will help SAGE members find permanent housing in the United States, setup American bank accounts, and purchase an American cell phone.
Additional benefits to participating in the program include:
- All meals provided during the program
- Full cost of any activities or transportation
- Visiting famous New York City landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Time Square, Central Park, and Yankee Stadium
- Networking opportunities with Stevens’ faculty, administration, staff, and senior students
- Workshop sessions designed to increase student’s business skills and English communication abilities

When is SAGE?
The SAGE 2016 Program will begin on Friday, July 29 and end on Friday, August 5. Students may arrive for the SAGE Program beginning Tuesday, July 26. We encourage all students to arrive by Thursday, July 28. All students are asked to fly into Newark International Airport (EWR). A representative from Stevens Institute of Technology will pick all students up at the airport.
Who participates in SAGE?
We had a group of enthusiastic and outstanding students who participated in SAGE last year! You can be part of the SAGE experience too! SAGE students come from all parts of the world. Even if English is your first language, SAGE is a great opportunity to learn more about life and culture in the United States prior to the start of the fall semester as well as a great opportunity to make lifelong friends.
How can I register for SAGE?
The preferred registration deadline is Wednesday, June 8. Students who register after this deadline will be accepted only if space if available.

Scholarship for SAGE.
The Office of Graduate Student Affairs offered two $1500 scholarships for the 2016 SAGE program. Details for the SAGE 2016 Scholarship program will be announced soon.
Applicants must be incoming international graduate students enrolling in Fall 2016 at Stevens Institute of Technology. The $1500 scholarship can only be applied to the cost of SAGE.
