What is SAGE?

The Stevens American Graduate Experience (SAGE) is an exclusive summer enrichment program for incoming international Stevens’ graduate students to immerse themselves in American language, culture, and academics prior to the start of fall semester classes.

What are the benefits of SAGE?

Students who participate will be provided with almost three weeks of on-campus Stevens housing, which overlooks the beautiful New York City skyline. Senior students and staff will help SAGE members find permanent housing in the United States, setup American bank accounts, and purchase an American cell phone.

Additional benefits to participating in the program include:

  • All meals provided during the program
  • Full cost of any activities or transportation
  • Visiting famous New York City landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Time Square, Central Park, and Yankee Stadium
  • Networking opportunities with Stevens’ faculty, administration, staff, and senior students
  • Workshop sessions designed to increase student’s business skills and English communication abilities

When is SAGE?

This year’s SAGE program will begin on Friday, July 18 and end on Friday August 1. SAGE students are provided housing from Tuesday July 15 at 12:00 pm (EST) through Friday August 1. We encourage SAGE students to arrive on Tuesday July 15, but they can arrive later as long as they are in Hoboken, New Jersey by Thursday July 17 at the latest.

Who participates in SAGE?

We had 34 outstanding students who participated in SAGE last year. SAGE students come from all parts of the world. Even if English is your first language, SAGE is a great opportunity to learn more about American life and culture prior to the start of the fall semester as well as a great opportunity to make lifelong friends.

How can I register for SAGE?

You can register online for SAGE 2014! The priority registration deadline is Wednesday, June 11. Students who register after that date will be accepted only if space is available. The final registration deadline is Wednesday, June 25. No registrations will be accepted after that date.
