Airport Pickup for New Graduate Students
In order to better assist you in your transition to your Stevens experience, the Office of Graduate Student Affairs offers free airport pickup for new Graduate students arriving at Newark International (EWR) or John F. Kennedy Airports JFK.
Airport Pickup registration for the Fall 2019 semester is currently closed. The Airport Pick Up application will open on Tuesday, May 28th and close on Friday, July 26th. Application details will be shared closer to date. Advance registration is REQUIRED.
If you have confirmed your acceptance to Stevens, please see notifications that will be sent to your Stevens email regarding updates about Airport Pick-Up. If at the moment you have questions regarding this service, please contact our office directly by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Airport Pickup for Fall 2019 will begin on Monday, August 12th and will conclude on Sunday, August 18th, including weekend service. We strongly recommend you plan your arrival at Newark Liberty International or JFK Airports between the hours of 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM to ensure airport pickup availability. If your expected arrival time to the airport is later than 9:00 PM, please contact our office to inquire about pick up. We cannot guarantee a pick up, therefore please see our list of alternative transportation methods below. Students can only be dropped off at Stevens Campus or the Stevens Temporary Housing location.
Baggage / Luggage Information
Due to the high demand of the Airport Pickup program and limited space in our pickup vehicles, please limit your luggage per person to the following:
Two checked-in baggage (must not exceed 62 inches in length).
One carry-on (must not exceed 22" X 14" X 9").
One personal item, such as a backpack, duffel bag, shoulder bag, purse, etc. (must not exceed 17" X 13" X 8").
Stevens reserves the right to deny airport pickup service due to luggage over-capacity.
Please use your best discretion with the number of luggage you will have as we have limited space in our pickup vehicles.
Another option is to ship some non-essential items to campus. We suggest to ship your items a few days before you board your flight. You can box up your non-essential items send your package(s) with the following address:

NEW GRADUATE STUDENT
Upon your arrival at the Stevens campus, you can pick up your package at our receiving department during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM). We do ask that you pick up your package no more than 2 business days after your arrival.
Additional Pickup Information
1. A Stevens Airport Pickup representative will be at the airport terminal to greet you upon your arrival.
2. We are unable to accommodate Airport Pickup service to non-Stevens guests traveling with you.
3. The Airport Pickup service is available to new, incoming Stevens Graduate students only.

Show-Up Reservation without Confirmation Policy:
Those students who show up without a confirmation for Airport Pick-Up will be charged a $100 fee if space permits.
If your travel plans change you must notify the Office of Graduate Student Affairs at least 72 hours in advance. If your flight is delayed or cancelled you must notify the Office of Graduate Student Affairs immediately. If you do not show up for your scheduled pick-up time a $100 no-show fee will be charged to your student account.

Additional Travel Options
Students who do not use the Stevens Airport Pick Up Service must arrange for their own transportation from the airport. Although flights into JFK airport are often less expensive than flights into EWR, it will take an additional 60-90 minutes of travel time and cost $100+ to get to Hoboken, NJ from JFK airport than from EWR airport.
Traveling from Newark Airport (EWR)
Public Transportation: Once you arrive at Newark Airport you will take Air Train Newark to the Newark Airport Railroad Station. Take the Northeast Corridor train towards New York Penn Station and get off at the Secaucus stop. From Secaucus, take the Main/Bergen County line towards Hoboken. It will cost you approximately $15. Please be mindful with luggage it may be difficult to use public transportation.
Taxi Cabs: Cabs are available outside the airport, simply follow signs for "Ground Transportation" and then "Taxi". Go to a uniformed taxi dispatcher at the taxi stand to get a cab. A taxi cab from EWR to Hoboken will cost approximately $45 + tolls.
Car Service: If you would like to take a car we encourage you to contact a service and make arrangements ahead of time. A car service from EWR to Hoboken will cost you approximately $60 + tolls. Traveling from John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK)
Public Transportation: At JFK, board the AirTrain JFK: Jamaica-Airport light rail towards Jamaica. Get off at Jamaica Station-Sutphin Blvd (the 5th stop). Walk to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-World Trade Center. Take the E subway towards the World Trade Center to 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal (the 11th stop). Get off and walk to Port Authority Bus Terminal. At Port Authority take Bus 126 towards Hoboken-Path-Exact Fare. This will bring you to Washington St in Hoboken. Get off at Washington St and 8th Street. Public transportation will cost you approximately $20. Please be mindful it may be difficult to travel with luggage.
